Washington, DC – The L’Enfant Trust (“Trust”) is pleased to announce the organization was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Moe Family Fund for Statewide and Local Partners of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The grant will support in part the creation of a strategic development plan for the Trust’s Historic Properties Redevelopment Program (“HPRP”) in Historic Anacostia.

The strategic development plan will outline new messaging, collateral, and developmental strategies to raise awareness, broaden the pool of potential donors, and support long-term growth of the Trust’s HPRP. This project can be used as a model for organizations nationwide in raising public awareness of historic preservation as a solution to increasing the supply of affordable housing.

The Moe Family Fund for Statewide and Local Partners supports current members of the National Preservation Partners Network with grants focused on priority issues for the preservation field, including:

  • Diversity, inclusion, and racial justice
  • Affordable housing and density
  • Sustainability and climate action
  • Historic preservation trades training and workforce development

The Trust has partnered with Kelly Strategies, a DC-based consulting firm specializing in fundraising strategy for nonprofits and organizational management, to conduct the strategic development plan.
