Greg also leads a global site selection, tenant representation, acquisitions and the incentive negotiations team based out of the Washington, DC office.  Prior to the merger with JLL, Greg worked as a Managing Director with The Staubach Company specializing in end-user representation with a focus on strategic planning, project management, financial analysis and transaction structuring. About Lauren Oswalt McHale

Lauren was appointed President of The L'Enfant Trust in 2017, after serving as Executive Director and Director of Preservation. In 2012, she initiated the Trust’s Historic Properties Redevelopment Program. Lauren has a B.A. in Art History and Historic Preservation & Community Planning from the College of Charleston and a M.S. in Historic Preservation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the past Chair of the Preservation Action Foundation and Past President of the Latrobe Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians. Lauren currently serves as an ACE DC Mentor Program board member and a citizen member of the Planning, Zoning and Economic Development Committee of Washington, DC's Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6C.

About Mary Carolyn "Carolyn" Brown

Carolyn Brown established her own law firm in 2020, The Brown Law Firm, PLLC, that focuses on zoning, historic preservation, land entitlements and administrative litigation. Ms. Brown has successfully guided developers, retailers, institutions, private schools, non-profits, and homeowners through the approval process on a wide variety of complex issues, ranging from large new mixed-use projects to small additions in historic districts. Prior to establishing her own firm, Carolyn practiced with Donohue & Stearns, PLC -- joining the firm in 2016 to expand its real estate and land use practices in the District. With over twenty years of experience, Ms. Brown develops land use strategies and advises clients on the intricacies of the design review process for historic properties, as well as zoning and building code compliance. Ms. Brown practices regularly before the District's Zoning Commission, the Board of Zoning Adjustment (including numerous appeal cases), the District's Historic Preservation Review Board, the Mayor's Agent for Historic Preservation, and the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts. Ms. Brown also represents clients in the D.C. Court of Appeals defending agency orders approving development projects. Ms. Brown received her JD as well as a Master’s in Historic Preservation/American Studies from The George Washington University.

About Adrienne V. Smoot-Edwards

Adrienne is the CEO and President of The Phoenix Restoration Group, a general contracting company that specializes in historic restoration, including window and door restoration, metal work, carpentry and painting. Since 2005 The Phoenix Restoration Group has been a front-runner in the building restoration industry, working on the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, President Lincoln's Cottage, and other historic buildings throughout the Washington, DC area.

Prior to establishing her business, Adrienne obtained nearly twenty years of construction management and accounting experience working for a variety of construction entities. She is a native Washingtonian and holds a B.S. in Organizational Management from Columbia Union College.

About Sam C. Kilpatrick

Sam C. Kilpatrick was the Controller of the National Trust for Historic Preservation for forty years and retired in 2016.  The National Trust provides leadership and advocacy to save America’s diverse historic places and revitalize our communities.  During his tenure with the National Trust, he was responsible for management of its assets, accounting, payroll, budgeting, contracts, grants administration, audits, tax returns and endowments.  He worked closely with the Board of Trustees and the Finance and Audit
Committees.

Sam has served on the boards of Congressional Cemetery, Emmaus Services for the Aging and The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation.  He served as chairman of the Audit, Finance, Fundraising and Board Development Committees. He is currently serving on the boards of Iona Senior Services as its Treasurer and Foundry United Methodist Church as its Chairman of the Audit Committee.  

Sam has a BS degree in Business Administration.  He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and has lived in Washington, D. C. since 1974.

About Oliver Spurgeon

Oliver Spurgeon is Senior Government Relations Director at Arent Fox, where he represents clients on range of issues before the U.S. Congress, Executive Branch agencies, and the government of the District of Columbia including transportation, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, Health and Human Services appropriations, drug pricing, tax, trade, and education policy.

Previously, Oliver advised the c-suite, board of directors, and 11,000 health centers on strategy, policy analysis, and advocacy issues on evolving state and federal policy developments for National Association of Community Health Centers, and supported the c-suite and board of directors and evaluated federal and state health care regulations and legislation for National Recreation and Park Association. Prior to his association lobbying experiences, Oliver served for five years on the Washington, DC staff of Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA), where he covered health policy, tax, education, and other issues.

In his spare time, Oliver remains active in non-profit and political causes dedicated to expanding access, opportunity, and economic advancement for residents of the District of Columbia. He sits on the Board of Directors of several organizations including the United Planning Organization (UPO), DC Strings Workshop, Historic Anacostia Block Association (HABA), and serves as the Legislative Committee Chairman of the District of Columbia Ward Eight Democratic Party. Oliver holds a BA from Georgia Southern University and an MBA from Howard University.

About Dennis R. Hughes

Dennis R. Hughes is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight LLP’s Washington, DC, office and represents private developers, institutions, trade associations and individual landowners in matters involving land use, zoning, historic preservation, construction code and municipal law and regulation. 

Mr. Hughes has an active administrative law practice, appearing before local and federal agencies and review boards in the District of Columbia. Mr. Hughes' transactional practice includes the documentation and processing of development credits and air rights allocations.  He has been involved in the vesting and transfer of several million square feet of density across all quadrants of the District of Columbia.

Mr. Hughes counsels clients in multiple jurisdictions on matters related to federal historic preservation controls, including the Section 106 review process and rehabilitation tax credits. He has been qualified as an expert in architectural history by the District of Columbia's Mayor's Agent for Historic Preservation and the Rockville, Maryland, Historic District Commission. 

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Hughes provided legal advocacy and archival research for the Historic Charleston Foundation in South Carolina and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation in Virginia.
